Mid-Facelift Plastic Surgery in Miami

A patient who displays signs of aging within the mid-section of the face has the option to undergo a surgery called the mid-facelift. This version of the facelift surgery is best suited for patients who only require serious correction to areas of the face from below the eyes to just below the cheeks. Potential patients may have excess under-eye tissues, sagging cheeks, exaggerated nasolabial folds, or wrinkles.

Benefits of Mid Facelift

The benefits of having a mid-facelift rather than a full facelift are a lower cost and a natural-looking solution to mild or moderate signs of aging. A mid-facelift will restore volume to areas of fat deflation, and conversely remove unwanted fatty deposits, which commonly occur under the eyes. Muscles may be sutured back into place, and excess skin is removed to create a more youthful surface. If a patient displays the effects of physical maturity above or below the mid-face, there are a number of surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures that can create feature-enhancement. Popular options are brow lift and neck lift surgeries, and dermal filler injections to plump the skin.

The best candidates for a mid-facelift are those who understand what the surgery can achieve, and have realistic expectations for their final look. Those interested in this procedure should also be of sound health to ensure the fastest healing time and most favorable results. Because a mid-facelift alone does not address concerns of the entire face, this procedure is more commonly performed on patients who range in age from their 30s to 40s, or those with the most advanced signs of aging in this area. A mid-facelift may last up to 10 years, though longer in some cases, and non-surgical cosmetic maintenance will prolong the results of the surgery.

Recovery from Mid-Facelift Surgery

The recovery process following this surgery is not as lengthy or extensive as other facial surgeries. It can be expected that swelling will last at least three weeks, though work can typically be resumed in one to two weeks. Strenuous activities should be avoided for three to four weeks. Prescribed medications will control bruising and pain, so the patient feels comfortable during the recovery period.
