Question:
I’m a smoker and I know I need to quit. I’m trying. How long before and after my browlift surgery do I need to stop?
Answer:
You should quit smoking as long as possible before the procedure but certainly at least two weeks before and two weeks after the surgery. Cigarettes increase the level of carbon monoxide in your blood, and decrease the level of oxygen, which can increase your chance of a heart attack. Smoking can also impede the healing process and it may even increase the risk of infection. Smoking can also increase your risk of lung problems.
