Question:
I love the look of high cheek bones but I definitely was not born with them. I am considering cheek implants but know nothing about the procedure. Can you explain how the surgery is performed and what it entails?
Answer:
Cheek implants are an excellent procedure to give you higher and nicer cheek bones. In my practice I use very soft Silastic cheek implants that are put in from underneath the upper lip so there is no external scar anywhere. I make a pocket that places the cheek implants mostly over the malar eminence or the lateral aspect of the face and try to make the cheek implants look nice and natural as though they are just part of your natural cheek bones. The cheek implants are placed in a pocket that are just the right size and do not have to be sewn in and the incision underneath the upper lip is closed. There are no bandages and the results are absolutely excellent and can be done even under local anesthesia.
