Question:
I have what I think is called a weak chin. It does not seem to jut out as far as it should. If I have a chin augmentation, would it basically just alter my profile or also change my appearance when looking directly at the front of my face?
Answer:
If you have a weak chin and what is often referred to medically as a micrognathia and you place a chin implant for chin augmentation, it will certainly enhance your profile and may also be visible from the front of your face as well. Depending upon whether you use a short implant or a long implant, you can either make the chin more pointed from the front or more squared-off looking from the front. Again, the overwhelming change will be from the profile, however there is a visible change from the front also.
