Question:
I have opted for injectable fillers rather than cosmetic surgery for the time being. I would like to know if I can wear makeup right after the procedure to cover up any bruising. I am planning to go right back to work afterward.
Answer:
Each patient is slightly different so it does make sense to ask your specific doctor and/or nurse whether it is okay to wear makeup directly after having an injectable filler treatment. With that said, while most patients experience very brief pinkness or redness in the area of the injectable filler and in rare cases very light bruising or very light swelling for a very short time, the great majority of patients are presentable and comfortable in public within a couple of hours of having an injectable treatment. Light makeup to cover up any bruising or pinkness should be fine and should not cause any reactions or damage to the skin or to the results of the injectable filler treatment.
