Question:
I am very interested in getting a neck lift. I am a 38-year-old female with a turkey gobbler and the turkey gobbler seems to be very hereditary in my family regardless of weight. I am not overweight, very lean actually, but mine is already starting to make its appearance. When I have this procedure done, will I have to have it done again years later?
Answer:
A turkey gobbler problem is sometimes a difficult problem if it is hereditary in nature because the patient, like in your case, is appropriate in their size and shape, they just have a genetic tendency to develop problems in this particular area. An excellent procedure for this is a combination of liposuction and what we call a post auricular neck lift, which basically works on just getting the neck taken care of. It is very important if you have any liposuction to also have some secondary lifting if needed so that the skin does not droop. If you have liposuction and a post auricular neck lift, you should go for many years without recurrence of a turkey gobbler. You may, again, need to do some work in 10, 15 or 20 years as needed with age, however our experience and success rate with turkey gobbler and post auricular neck lifts on people with hereditary type problems is excellent with very long lasting results.
