Question:
Ever since my facelift surgery, which was about seven weeks ago, I have had this really stretched, tight sensation in my facial skin. Will this clear up on its own and is it anything to be concerned about?
Answer:
After seven weeks you may still feel that there is a pulled or tightened sensation to your facial skin, however at this point, and certainly if it persists, I would be concerned that you possibly had too tight of a pull from the facelift itself. I prefer all my facelifts to look very natural and I do not pull the skin and create a significant tightness. The tightness should be natural in appearance and after two or three weeks the face should begin to feel more relaxed and very natural. Again, at seven weeks and if this persists, I would be concerned that you may have had too tight of a pull and you may need to discuss that specifically with your surgeon.
