Facelift Question and Answers - Will there be scars?

Will there be scars?

As with any surgical procedure, facelift surgery involves the use of incisions, meaning that you will have scars. However, these incisions tend to be minimal and placed in well-concealed areas, typically within the hairline and within natural contours, or folds, in and behind the ear, thus allowing for minimum visibility. Some facelifts involve the placement of incisions underneath the chin as well. These scars may appear extreme immediately following surgery but will fade over time and be barely noticeable, particularly if the patient avoids direct sun exposure. Some patients, particularly those who are younger, can undergo endoscopic surgery which involves tiny minimal scarring.
